Totally blown away with the totally sincere unforced naturally friendly service from all staff. The price was amazing, the room was amazing and the breakfast was superb. The little finishing touches like the tea and coffee selections even in the rooms add that sense of being comfortable and like being at home. Was really calm and quiet and yes the only downside as with any hotel were the usual ignorant other guests that can't seem to close a door quietly! You know who you are! Grrr sort yourselves out 😆 no really apart from that, absolutely stunningly perfect stay and look forward to staying again very soon 😊
THANK YOU
Positives:
Service at checkin and the restaurant was fantastic! I happened to have a charger issue and the staff were exceptional at trying to solve my issue. Food wise, I ordered a custom stone baked pizza, WOW the chef needs a pat on the back! It was honestly one of the best I’ve had, well done chef! The fixtures and fittings in the restaurant feel reasonably modern and very elegant, however the rest of the place feels a touch tired in places sadly. The heating in the rooms is fantastic, you will not go cold in this hotel that’s for sure. No A/C but we stayed in winter so that’s none issue for us, but would be warm in summer I expect. Breakfast was a pleasant experience and has all you would expect with lots of tasty juices and cooked breakfast etc.
Not so great parts:
Shower goes hot and cold and the lighting in the room could be better thought out. Tea bags are English breakfast, which annoys me personally as we ALL drink black tea at home. The bed is extremely close to the door and the sound proofing is extremely poor when it comes to other people moving around. The hallways upstairs are very narrow, more like a cruise ship style, which I’m not keen personally. The bed in the room we stayed in was a little saggy and I didn’t sleep all that well. Overall, there is a slight depressing feel around the place which is hard to get away from, not sure if it’s the ambience in general, hard to put my finger on it really.
In summary:
I would stay again and it’s a clean and perfectly acceptable place to lay your head for a night. If they improve on a few things, this place could be exceptional!
What can I say from start to Finish our stay really was Fantastic. Our room was truly amazing better than the pictures. We felt very lucky. It was ready for us early so we was able to check in get ready for the wedding we had Togo to near by and then leave knowing it would be all set for our return home that night. The hot tub was amazing. Food was Fab for breakfast and we had lunch too was Great. Staff all friendly and helpful, we would definitely return. Beautiful area and setting.
From the time of booking our wedding last September we were thoroughly looked after (with all of our many changing requests) by the staff, especially Robert and Natasha.
Our ceremony and reception went smoothly, with no hitches and the staff all looked after us and our guests. We all had an amazing time. The Avalon Suite given as part of the package is an incredible room (we wished we could have stayed another night to make use of the hot tub)
Thank you for looking after us
Stayed 11 days. Room nice and spacious and quiet. Bed uncomfortable. Pillows lumpy. Service in restaurant inconsistent - good and bad.
Could do with improvements in restaurant and help with luggage.
Nice decor but not 5 star rating for us
We went for Christmas Dinner. The food couldn't be faulted. I wouldn't go back because the wait staff wanted to set a fast get them in and out pace. One was in such a hurry he dropped a dirty knife down my front.
This is a little gem of a hotel which is located close by to both Wells and Glastonbury and has a good variety of rooms on offer. The rooms are large, comfortable and clean and very modern. The whole style of the hotel is modern and has a very boutique feel. The staff are so friendly and offer a great service and cannot do enough for their guests. The food available in the restaurant is extensive and offers something for everyone. We had several meals whilst staying there and every time we were never disappointed. Absolutely gorgeous. Hotel had a good sized car park and has 4 electric charging points too which was a bonus and not expensive. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone in the area.
We stayed in an Executive Room. Even though the room was large enough with a Separate Bath and Shower the Decor is dark so you feel a bit closed in. The walls were also like Cardboard so you could hear everything from the next room. We did enjoy our evening meal as it was cooked really well. However, the Breakfast was what really let this place down. The sausage was grisly and didn't taste very nice, the bacon was bordering on grey and had no flavour, the egg and hash brown were far too greasy and the roasted tomato was so sharp and bitter that we could not eat it. Something for the hotel to look at
